Climate is great most of the year and it is a very affordable city. Maybe on the way back?! How has the Surly Cross Check been for loaded touring? Most people recommend the Long Haul Trucker, but I Tend to like the more road geometry of the Cross Check. Any issues or regrets? Thanks - tanner

Phoenix, maybe, maybe next time. If You get a triple crankset on the Cross Check, it´s a good enough heavy duty long hauling ever lasting bike bike. If You then remove the racks You have a bike bike for all occasions, like riding really long distances which I do. I rode Paris-Brest-Paris on mine. It´s the versatility that makes the Cross Check a better bike than The Trucker, which You´d only want to haul on, which it´s off course better suited at. The reason we do Cross Checks is that we had them already and don´t believe it´s all in the bike.
